Levain for iPhone · iOS 26 or later
Email liuys614@gmail.com and you will hear back within two working days. Levain is made by one person, so a real human reads every message.
It helps enormously if you include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and the version of Levain shown in Settings › About inside the app.
My alarm did not ring
Levain's stage alerts use Apple's AlarmKit so that they sound through silent mode and Focus. They need permission, and they need to have been granted at least once:
- Open Settings › Levain on your iPhone and make sure alarm and notification access are switched on.
- Check that the stage itself has its loud alarm enabled. Loud alarms are set per stage, so an overnight cold retard you deliberately made quiet will stay quiet.
- Alarms fire on the device that started the bake. They will not sound on a paired Mac or iPad.
- A phone that is switched off or out of battery cannot ring. For a bake where a missed alert would matter, keep it charged.
The countdown is not on my Lock Screen
The Live Activity needs Live Activities enabled in Settings › Levain › Live Activities. It appears once a bake is actually running, and ends when the last stage finishes or you stop the bake. If it disappeared mid-bake, reopening Levain restarts it — your bake and its remaining time are not affected.
I paid, but Pro is not unlocked
Open the Levain Pro screen and tap Restore. That asks Apple for the purchases attached to your Apple Account and unlocks Pro again — this is also how you move a Lifetime purchase to a new iPhone. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with. If Restore still does not work, email us with the date of purchase and we will help you chase it.
Cancelling a subscription or a free trial
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they are cancelled on your device rather than in the app: Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Levain › Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period — or the 7-day trial — ends, or it renews. Pro stays unlocked for the rest of a period you have already paid for.
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; we are not able to issue one ourselves.
My loaf photo did not become a sticker
Cutting the loaf out of its background runs on your device using Apple's Vision framework. It needs a reasonably clear photo — a loaf that fills the frame against a contrasting surface works best. A very dark, very busy or very low-contrast photo can defeat it, and the bake is then logged with the plain photo instead. Nothing is lost either way.
Where is my data, and how do I delete it?
Your recipes, bakes, notes and photos live on your iPhone, in Levain's own storage. They are never uploaded. Deleting a recipe or a logged bake removes it; deleting the app removes everything it stored, permanently and irreversibly, so export or copy anything you want to keep first. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
A bake is running and I need to change it
Editing a recipe does not rewrite bakes you have already logged — each logged bake keeps a snapshot of the ingredients and the timeline it really ran on. That is deliberate, so your journal stays an accurate record of what you actually did.
Feature requests and bugs
Both are welcome at liuys614@gmail.com. If you are reporting a bug, the stage you were on and roughly what time it happened are usually enough to find it.
